Squarish octavo, blue bevel edge cloth gilt lettered. pp (2), xii, 13-284, (2), including 18 pp ads, many pictorial + 9 plates with tissue guard + tipped in green leaf "To My Patrons". LACKING THE MAP at rear. Also, without the plate at p. 93 but with one more plates not called for at p. 87. Front free endpaper has creases and tears to the fore margin repaired with clear archival paper tape; one inch tear to fore margin of tissue guard at frontispiece; title page has an ink number and the rubber stamp of the Mercantile Library, New York; rubber stamp at top margin of first page of text; mild wear at spine ends; else a fine, bright and tight copy, no other library marks.
